ARCHITECTURE FOR LONG-BODIED-SHORT-LEGGED DOG

SIZE W1630 x D587 x H490
DIFFICULTY DIFFICULT
FAB. TIME 5 DAYS

Because of their short legs, it’s hard for dachshunds to meet their masters’ eyes. Also because of their short legs, it’s hard for them to get up on chairs. Is there no good way to get closer to the eyes? Stairs? With those too-long bodies, they may throw out their backs. How about something like a folded slope? This works. Let’s make it long enough so a person can lie down too. Sunbathing with your dachshund on the veranda is good. The area under the slope is like a burrow for small animals. They can train there, digging down there to catch their prey. If you connect several, they can go anywhere, and form any shape. Multiple stacks in an atrium space make a ramp for the dogs to go upstairs.

DOG COOLER

SIZE W1045 x D900 x H560
WEIGHT 20 KG –
DIFFICULTY NORMAL
FAB. TIME 2 DAYS

My beloved dog, Pepe, who the year before last passed away at the ripe age of sixteen, and who spent with me the busiest years of my life, was a dear friend. A handsome Spitz, he was exceedingly proud, but he had a straightforward disposition and was a really good guy. But with that fluffy fur, summer was really tough. Summer in Japan, hot and humid as it is, is the worst climate—for people and dogs. My house was without air conditioning—a rarity today, and for him, it had to be a really tough environment. Even when we did have access to a fan or a cooler, his tongue would loll out of his mouth and he would pant, as if in great discomfort.
